The activities are endless: from cycling, hiking, horseback riding, etc. Or a city trip
to Maastricht (less than 9 km.) The chalet has a lockable shed where you can charge your electric bicycle. There is also one on the property
super cozy tavern where you can eat and eat at a reasonable price
or drink, in summer the Taverne de Krieckaert has a large terrace.
The owners are dog lovers, so dogs are welcome here!

Wijn de Apostelhoeve is the crown jewel of the vineyards in Maastricht. The tourist office in Maastricht has a wine route map through South Limburg.
Caves the marl caves in NL. and BE. are so different from size to functionality that it becomes difficult to choose.
Castles for castles is the same as for the caves, they are located in the most beautiful places in NL. as BE.
Fishing pond free fishing Kikweg 3 Maasmechelen 13.9 km
Markets Maastricht has an extensive market every Friday with a delicious fish section, there is a small one on Wednesdays. On Sundays there is a small curios and antiques market. There is a large antique market in Tongeren on Sundays about half an hour's drive away.

Tavern
Enjoy a drink and a snack within a 5-minute walk, or if you don't feel like cooking. Taverne de Krieckaert would like to welcome you! There is a nice playground for children.
Maastricht
Beautiful Maastricht is less than 9 km from the chalet. Historic buildings and trendy design shops. Stately churches and adventurous caves. Menus full of taste sensations and terraces full of fun. Lively festivals and high-profile exhibitions. Wide squares and extensive vineyards. All this and more is Maastricht: the star among the cities! Not for nothing a popular destination for a day of shopping, a weekend together or a worldly holiday.
To walk
Walking for hours in the beautiful Hoge Kempen National Park!
The Pietersembos used to belong to the castle domain of Pietersheim. Numerous insects and birds, as you will find, bring life to the brewery here. On the flanks of the Kempen plateau, almost invisible crystal clear water emerges from the ground that collects in the Asbeek. Be sure to pay attention to the thick peat moss bumps, because they are truly spectacular! It is not without reason that part of the forest has been designated a forest reserve.
Horse riding
The forest in Gellik is very suitable for riding a horse and afterwards having a drink! Equestrian routes in South Limburg .
Petanque
Next to the tavern is a Petanque court. Petanque is the Provençal variant of boules, although both terms are often used synonymously. Boules includes all games played with metal balls. Petanque requires little or no equipment and infrastructure; it is simple in design, with an emphasis on agility rather than physical strength.
