Our sunny Chalet "Het beukennootje" is located on a spacious terrain with parking space in front of the chalet, in the middle of the forest on the recreation domain Krieckaert Lanaken (Gellik) Belgium. Less than 9 km from Maastricht where we live. The domain is adjacent to the Hoge Kempen National Park, where nature lovers can enjoy themselves; walking, cycling, horse riding, etc. Because the forest consists of high birch trees and conifers, the sun and countless birds such as woodpeckers and nuthatches have free rein. The red squirrels shoot through the bushes, but can also be fed nicely. Peace, the plants, the clean air and the bird sounds determine the atmosphere of the domain. It will come as no surprise that open fires are prohibited around the chalet as well as in the forest.

In the spacious living room with double doors, you can relax and dine at the large dining table for 4 people. TV is available, the room is well heated by a pellet stove, the stove provides a pleasant constant temperature and an atmospheric play of flames.

The adjoining kitchen has a complete kitchen:

• 2 coffee machines, 1 filter and 1 Nespresso

• Kettle

• Four burner gas stove

• Cutlery

• Cups / glasses / crockery

• Pans

• Combi microwave / oven

The chalet is 60 m² and suitable for up to 4 people.

The sun terrace is 40 m² and is screened and sheltered from the wind amidst the greenery. Four garden chairs with matching cushions and two garden tables are available.

We kindly request you not to smoke in the chalet.

There is space to park 1 car in front of the chalet.

Please note : There is currently no internet connection in the house, since mid-2017 no roaming costs are charged, so your own "bundle" gives you the same options as in the Netherlands. There is free wifi in the tavern on the domain.

In our lockable shed it is possible to place and charge your bicycles (max 2.) 1 (regular bicycle) is permanently available and can be used free of charge. It has also recently become possible to rent the two-seater unique e-bike Lohner Stroler through us (for more information, see ACTIVITIES on this site.

Location and tips : You can enjoy a bite to eat or drink in the tavern located on the domain. The SPAR and Pharmacy Gellik Dorpsstraat are around the corner, SPAR opening hours are Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Saturday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, Sunday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm closed on Monday Behind the Spar is a nice eatery and opposite the church is an eating / drinking place with a beautiful terrace. Restaurant Schuur17 is 7 km from our chalet and is very easy to reach by car or bicycle address is Daalstraat 17 3740 in Bilzen tel. 012 44 16 22. But you can also easily reach Maastricht, where you can also enjoy a delicious dinner. In the Hoge Kempen National Park you can discover the park accompanied by a ranger. For fashion you can go to the Outlet center Maasmechelen (15 km) or in Maastricht (9 km.) Valkenburg, Liège, Hasselt and Aachen are all reachable within half an hour by car.
